Blendtec is a major rival to Vitamix, known for powerful motors and a wide, short jar that fits under many cabinets. It is also premium priced.

Who it is for: people who want a premium blender with a shorter jar.

• Pros: powerful, compact height, premium build.
• Cons: expensive, and jars have a different shape to learn.

Verdict: a great high-end option, especially for low cabinets.
